Vandy in the Running for Florida Speedster

Courtney Bynes

This 2011 Sunshine State prospect has been keeping his recruitment fairly silent. But somehow, VandyMania managed to track down the 5-8, 160 pound speedster out of Boyd H. Anderson High School to get his latest thoughts on the recruiting front. Come inside for more details.

Boyd H. Anderson High School wide receiver, Courtney Bynes, has been keeping things rather quiet on the recruiting front. However though, VandyMania.com was fortunate to catch up with the 4.38 speedster out of Florida to get his latest thoughts on recruiting.

"Everything has been going pretty good so far, the gifted athlete told VandyMania.com. "I have about seven offers right now. I have offers from Kent State, Vanderbilt, Duke, FIU, Western Kentucky, New Mexico State, and Bethune-Cookman."

Bynes shared that one other school has been pursuing him heavily as of late, and that this particular program could be very close to putting an offer on the table as well. "I've been hearing a lot from Wisconsin lately," Bynes informed VandyMania. "They haven't officially offered me yet, but they seem very interest in me. Actually, they want me to come up for an official visit."

The Sunshine State product doesn't have plans locked in stone in regards to official visits. But however, he has been pondering over whether or not to take one with the Big Ten program, along with three other programs he's been heavily considering: Vanderbilt, Florida International, and Duke. "Those are probably my top choices right now," said Bynes. "Wisconsin, Florida International, Vanderbilt, and Duke in no particular order."

Bynes informed us that he is in no hurry to make his final decision, and that isn't quite sure when he will be making his next move. In fact, Florida prep star added that he doesn't plan to make his final decision until he feels like he's comfortable with both the school and the coaching staff.

At any rate, it is quite refreshing to know that Vanderbilt is on his short list. In closing, the gifted 2011 star left us with his thoughts regarding the SEC program. "I like Vanderbilt a lot," he said. "I know they are not one of the dominant teams in the SEC, but they're really trying to build a winning program. I also like the fact that they are in the SEC. In the SEC, you get to play against the best. I also like the fact that they play a lot of their young players too."

Stay tuned for the latest recruiting news on Courtney Bynes, as we are certain that there is more to come in the near future.
