Norman out for the season

Vanderbilt officials announced today that running back/ kick returner Warren Norman is out for remainder the season due to a wrist injury.

Warren Norman dislocated his wrist during the Commodores' 49-14 loss to Arkansas on Saturday night. Head coach Robbie Caldwell said that Norman would likely require pins and screws to be installed because of the severity of the injury.

The staff was hoping that they could go ahead and get some needed work done on one of Norman's knees at the same time. However, that procedure will now have to wait because after the wrist surgery Norman won‘t be able to utilize crutches which he‘ll need after knee surgery.

Caldwell mentioned Wesley Tate and Kennard Reeves as players who would pick up Norman's slack at running back. Zac Stacy, John Cole and Jonathan Krause were named as possible replacements for Norman at kick returner.

Norman, a sophomore, has over 1,200 career rushing yards for four touchdowns along with 30 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown. He has also returned 62 kickoffs for 1,608 yards and three touchdowns. He was the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2009.
