Baseball: 'Dores take opener, 7-4

The Vanderbilt Commodore baseball team got off to another great start to a weekend SEC series by defeating the Auburn 7-4. Vanderbilt was led by sophomore pitcher Jeremy Sowers who struck out 12 Tigers in 8 innings of work. Auburn fell to 31-12 (12-7 SEC) with the loss. Vanderbilt improves to 21-19 (9-10 SEC) with the win and moves back into first place in the SEC West. The series continues Saturday at 4 p.m. CST at Hawkins Field.
