NEW ORLEANS-- Vanderbilt beat No. 1 Kentucky today to win its first SEC Tournament Title in over 60 years. Jeffery Taylor, who struggled offensively the first two games of the tournament, led the Commodores with 18 points.

Trailing 62-57 with 4:08 remaining, Vanderbilt, led by Taylor, outscored the Wildcats 14-7 for rest of the game.

Vanderbilt players and coaches wept with joy after the Commodores picked up their first SEC Tourney title since 1951 when the 'Dores topped No.1 UK in Louisville, 61-57.

Other key scorers for Vanderbilt included John Jenkins (3-of-10 from 3) and Festus Ezeli each with 17. Freshman point guard Kedren Johnson played 23 minutes and scored six points.

The Vanderbilt players will stay in New Orleans and watch the NCAA selection show before heading back to a happy Music City.
