Vanderbilt Student Athletes Field Day 2012

Vanderbilt Student Athletes Field Day 2012

Every year the Vanderbilt Student Athletes Advisory Council (SAAC) sponsors a Field Day for Nashville public school students at the end of the spring semester. Vanderbilt classes ended Monday, and Field Day followed on Tuesday. Whitney D shares these photos of the fun and games.

Last year's annual Vanderbilt Student-Athletes Field Day was rained out, but in 2012, the weather cooperated with a sunny and cool spring morning, perfect for outside fun and games.

This year the guests were 180 third and fourth graders from Westmeade Elementary School. They rotate through stations for a variety of activities led by Vanderbilt student-athletes. Each team is responsible for selecting the activity, usually with a loose relation to their sport, with the emphasis on FUN.

If you'd been one of the lucky students who came to campus, here's how you would have spent the morning.
