“There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.”

LAST WEEK (7-0)-----OVERALL (65-12)

Well, last week was a considerable improvement over the previous week. Just goes to show that there’s never a dull moment in the SEC.

Alabama State @ Kentucky – Hopefully UK football fans (if there are any left this close to basketball season) won’t be hunting for the straight razors after this game. Mildcats 28 – Alabama State 10

UTEP @ TAMU – Name the score time. TAMU 68 – UTEP 10

Mississippi State @ South Carolina – If the Gamecocks can figure out how to stop making a massive amount of mistakes, they could morph into a very good football team. (Too late, of course.) Gamecocks 28 – Cowbells 10

Auburn @ Arkansas – Auburn appears to have recovered from a disastrous 2012. Not so, Arkansas. Auburn 31 – Pigs 17

Tennessee @ Missouri – Facing Missouri with an untested quarterback is not recommended. Missouri 48 – Tennessee 24

Georgia vs. Florida (Jacksonville) – Too bad Halloween isn’t on Saturday. They could bill this as “Night of the Walking Wounded”. I hope the Affordable Health Care act comes through for these guys. The game is essentially a pick ‘em, but the return of Gurley may swing the pendulum to the Dogs. UGA 21 – Gators 17
