Cassen Jackson named Mr. Football in 4A

Knoxville-Central High School running back Cassen Jackson, who has made a verbal commitment to play football at Vanderbilt, was honored Monday by the TSSAA as the American General Mr. Football Award winner as the best back in the state for the 4A classification.

The 6-1, 205-pound back rushed for over 1,400 yards in leading the Knoxville-Central Bobcats to a 10-3 record in 2003.

Another Vanderbilt commitment, linebacker / running back Jeff Jennings of Dandridge-Jefferson County, was a runner-up for the 5A Back of the Year. Award winners were announced Monday by the TSSAA and American General at a ceremony at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
