Gators Spoil Vanderbilt Homecoming, 34-17

If you are Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson, you have to feel good if you have the ball at the Florida 10-yard line in the fourth quarter trailing 24-17. The Commodores had a second-and-one situation with 11 minutes to play and appeared on their way to tying Florida and making the Gators sweat in Game 2 of the Lame Duck Ron Zook Era.

But a loss of one, a holding call, a dropped pass and a blocked field goal later, Vanderbilt's chances at an upset were essentially shot. "We were going to go for the touchdown there (on fourth down) before we were backed up with the penalty," Johnson said.
