Vanderbilt sophomore golfer Luke List has been invited to participate in the world's most prestigious golf tournament this April. Augusta National Golf Club announced Tuesday it had invited the 20-year-old to participate in The Masters in Augusta in April.

List will be one of 14 first-time participants to compete in the fabled tournament. Last year Vanderbilt alumnus Brandt Snedeker earned an invitation.

It marks the second time that List, a Ringgold, Ga. native, has received an invitation to participate as an amateur in one of the PGA's "major" events. List played in the 2003 U.S. Open by winning one of the regional qualifying events, but missed the cut.

List made a strong impression on the men's amateur golf world last summer at the U.S. Amateur in Mamaroneck, N.J., in which he finished as the runner-up.
