Athens, Ga. – Georgia scored four runs in the seventh inning including two runs on a Commodore error to defeat Vanderbilt, 6-2, Sunday afternoon at Foley Field. The Bulldogs took the series over the Commodores, 2-1. Vanderbilt is now 30-16 and 11-13 in the SEC while Georgia is 25-21 and 9-14 in the SEC.

With two away in the first inning, Mike Baxter hit a single up the middle and stole second. Brian Hernandez drew a walk and Dominic de la Osa hit a double to right field scoring Baxter for a 1-0 Commodore lead.

With two away in the fourth inning, Josh Morris got the first hit of the game for the Bulldogs – a solo home run over the right centerfield wall to tie the game at 1-1. That at-bat was after an almost 10-minute discussion between the officials and both coaches about a play involving Kyle Keen. The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning. Bobby Felmy reached on a stand-up double. McDaniel drew a walk, stole second and after Dunn drew a walk, Cody Crowell replaced Sues on the mound with runners on first and second and one out. Crowell hit Felmy on the first pitch to load the bases. Jacobs hit a grounder to Crowell who threw out McDaniel at home. Right-hander Michael Wagner replaced Crowell with the bases loaded and two away. Pinch hitter Jonathan Wyatt hit a grounder to Wagner who overthrew first base allowing two runs to score for a 6-1 Bulldog lead.

With two outs and Warner Jones on first, Mike Baxter hit a standup RBI double to left centerfield on a full count to cut the Bulldog lead to four, 6-2.
