The #8 seeded Vanderbilt women's team faces #1 seed North Carolina tonight at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt, which defeated Louisville on Saturday, will be looking for another trip to the Sweet 16. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m. central time. Here are player and coach comments on the game from both teams.

Head Coach Melanie Balcomb on North Carolina:

North Carolina is an exact opposite of us. "They press and run, are very athletic, and get a lot of offensive rebounds. They get all their points everywhere we don't get points, which are easy points. We get no easy points. So we're exact opposites of them. But in the past, we've been more successful against teams that are opposites to us than teams that are similar to us."

North Carolina Head Coach Sylvia Hatchell on Vanderbilt:

"We're just glad to be playing another game. We still have a tough game against Vanderbilt, we watched them last night they played really well especially down the stretch. They're on the home court, so we know we'll have to play better than we did last night. We have to play good defense and play like we've been playing all year. We're excited about having the chance to play another game."

Vanderbilt guard Dee Davis on containing Ivory Latta:

"We're going to try to get out there and pressure her and make her shoot something other than a 3-pointer, make her shoot off the dribble, make it a lot harder for her to make those passes into the post players and whoever else is cutting to the basket. Basically, we just want to pressure her more."

UNC's La 'Tangela Atkinson on whether it helps to have played Vanderbilt before:

"Yes, we played them in December. We saw them last night and they've improved and we've improved. We have the edge of knowing what we did in December, or what we can do now, just looking at different aspects of the game and how you play defense on certain people."
