Peloquin, a
native of Enfield, Ct., becomes Vanderbilt’s first bowling All-American and was
the only freshman on the first team. She had an outstanding season with a
212 average over 64 games, second best in the NCAA. A chemistry/biology
(pre-medicine) major, she also carries a 3.596 cumulative grade point
average.
Vanderbilt’s bowling team, which had the No. 1
cumulative grade point average among all Commodore varsity teams during the
2005-06 academic year (3.49), also placed six women on national academic honor
team.
They
included Jennifer Redmond, a civil engineering honors graduate who recently was
honored as Vanderbilt’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Jessica Tower,
Tywanquila Walker, Christine Luce, Mallory Abbott and Michelle
Peloquin.
Vanderbilt
concluded its second year of varsity bowling by placing in a tie for fifth place
at the NCAA Championship.
