On Saturday afternoon when the Kentucky All-Star girls team take the court against the Indiana All-Stars at 5:00 p.m. in Diddle Arena on the Western Kentucky University campus, two Vanderbilt signees will be on the court.

Point guard Merideth Marsh, recent graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville, and forward Amber Norton, recent graduate of Assummption High School in Louisville, will not only be playing in the game; they're also team captains.

The team has been in training since Sunday. On Tuesday, both the girls and boys teams took a break to go to Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green to meet and greet the media and sponsors of the All-Star Classic.

After lunch and introductions, the all-stars got to spend some time enjoying the park. Whitney D tagged along and shares these photos from the day.

Vandy girls: Amber on the left, Merideth on the right.

Future opponents: Arnika Brown and Brittany Edelen are Amber's and Merideth's teammates now, but when the college basketball season rolls around, they'll be playing for the University of Kentucky.

More future opponents: Brooke Faulkner, Alicia Bunton, and Kenzie Rich will be attending Western Kentucky University.

After lunch and photos, the all-stars go looking for some fun. Merideth, the point guard, naturally shows people where to go.

The team poses for a photo while waiting their turn on the "Looping Star".

It's called "Looping" for a reason! That's Merideth and Amber, in the front seats of the front car.

Hands up! The Kentucky Rumbler is a big old-fashioned wooden roller coaster, so of course you've gotta raise your hands.

As the Rumbler plummets down one of the big drops, the park's mounted camera snaps this photo.

One look at the Power Surge was enough to convince most of the all-stars to walk on by, but Merideth and Amber decided to give it a try.

Wheeeeee! Round and round, upside down, every old whichway!

Summer + water slide = perfect combination!

But Beech Bend is only half of the day's fun. The second half lies down the road, across the rolling hills of south central Kentucky to Tompkinsville, Kentucky, for a scrimmage at Monroe County High School.

Amber shoots and scores.

With the day's work and play behind them, Merideth and Amber prepare to go back to Bowling Green for more training. The team will scrimmage again on Thursday night in at Washington County High School.

Then Saturday's the first big game. Tip-off for the girls game is 5:00 p.m. at Diddle Arena on the Western Kentucky University campus, and the boys game follows at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door, by calling 1-800-5-BIG RED, or visiting www.wkusports.com. Proceeds from the game benefit The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation.
