Davis Flowers Back from Vanderbilt

Davis Flowers Back from Vanderbilt

If there has ever been a prospect who could tag the phrase "Super Prospect" it is no doubt Davis Flowers. The throwback style player amassed an amazing 212 tackles and 11 sacks this season for the Raiders, but he holds another impressive stat as well. Flowers has returned from an official visit with Vanderbilt.

Flowers reached even higher numbers with a 4.3 G.P.A. and a 32 on his ACT. Flowers totaled 544 tackles in his prep career which is good enough for third in the history of Alabama high school athletics.

Davis Flowers, from Houston Academy in Dothan, (Ala.), visited Vanderbilt this weekend. The 6-2, 220-pounder from the 2A Raiders has scholarship offers from Samford and Washington and Lee along with academic scholarships from Auburn and Troy.

"It went real well," Flowers said of his official visit. "I got to meet all the coaches and hung out with a lot of the players. I met with coach (Warren) Belin who coaches linebackers. I met with coach (Charlie) Fisher. He is my area recruiter. He was real good to me. I really liked the campus and the facilities. It was a lot more than I ever expected."

"I was offered to be a preferred walk-on. They told me only four or five people get that opportunity every year. It could lead to a scholarship offer next year."

"If nothing else comes up it will probably be Vanderbilt," Davis said of his decision. "I am visiting Washington and Lee this weekend and will decide after that."
