HOOVER-- Vanderbilt scored 4 runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Arkansas Razorbacks, 7-4, and win the 2007 SEC Baseball Tournament Championship. Tyler Rhoden, who saw limited action throughout the season, primarily as a mid week pitcher, struck out 6 to pick up the win.

Sophomore Brett Jacobson picked up the save.

First inning RBIs by Ryan Flaherty and Dominic de la Osa helped Vanderbbilt build an early 4-0 lead. Catcher Shea Robin was the hero for the second consecutive game, picking up two critical RBIs, including one in the first inning and one in the seventh inning.

It was Vanderbilt's second ever Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament Championship and first since 1980.

Vanderbilt improved to 51-11 on the season and will host their first ever NCAA regional next weekend.

NCAA Tournament seedings will be announced Monday morning at 11:30 a.m. CT on ESPN.
