TOLEDO-- Vanderbilt raced out to an 18-0 lead and then held on to win their second game of the season, 77-70, over the Toledo Rockets. Senior Shane Foster scored 21 points and freshman A.J. Ogilvy added 20.

Commodore good stat: 3-point shooting percentage 44.4% (8 of 18) with Shan Foster getting half these. With the loss of Derrick Byars and Dan Cage it's refreshing to see the Commodores successfully drilling 3-pointers on the road early in the season.

Commodore bad stat: Free throw percentage, 50%, 13 of 26.

Commodore ugly stat: NONE.

VandyMania Players of the Game: A.J. Ogilvy. Simply put, wow! It's exciting to see a freshman come and in dominate in the middle. Is this kid somehow related to Clyde Lee? 20 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and an assist.

Shan Foster. 21 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Foster showed great leadership in a hostile environment.

Quotable: Kevin Stallings, "We looked like a team that wasn't comfortable with that kind of lead. However, we never worried about the game getting away from us. I have a ton of admiration for them for their fight. But, we've got six freshman, and to have the lead for the entire game and to come in here to this kind of environment, it is a good feeling."

Next up: Home vs. Valparaiso on Tuesday, November 20 at 7:00.
