Vanderbilt gets 19th commit

VandyMania has learned that the Commodore staff picked up its 19th commit today. Read on to find out more about this exciting prospect who decommitted from a Pac-10 school to attend Vanderbilt.

Colt Nichter has decommitted from Washington State and committed to Vanderbilt. Nichter is a 6-2, 275 pound defensive lineman from Park City, Utah.

"I liked all the coaches, the city and all the kids. The campus was beautiful too. Not only do I get to play for an SEC school but I get a great education. . . I never thought I'd play in the SEC. It's a shock." said Nichter who was recruited by Vanderbilt defensive line coach Rick Logo.

Nichter commented on the tough time he had decommiting from a fine WSU program, "Washington State was really good to me. I was a very, very hard decision." In the end he cited Vanderbilt's education as an opportunity too good to turn down.

Nichter will play defensive tackle at Vandy.
