Mississippi State led most of the game but the score was tied 30-30 at the half and 74-74 at the end of regulation
Foster, who did not make a 3-pointer in the first half, made 9 straight in the second half. Foster's 9 threes tied a school record.
It was the fifth time in Vanderbilt history that Vanderbilt has completed a season undefeated at home (19-0).
Mississippi State's Jamont Gordon also played a spectacular game. He was almost unstoppable, scoring 24 points before leaving the game in the final minute with muscle cramps.
Vanderbilt is now 25-5 (10-5 SEC). The 25 wins ties a school record for regular season victories. A win at Alabama could break that record. Mississippi State drops to 20-9 (11-4 SEC) and has already wrapped up the SEC Western Division title.
