May told VandyMania.com that he picked up most of his offers during the Evaluation Period. However though, landing offers from the aforementioned schools wasn't the only intriguing thing that happened for him during that time frame. May also informed us that he received a visit from one of the members from the Vanderbilt Coaching Staff. "Coach Caldwell came by during the Evaluation Period," May said. "He was just stopping through to check on me; stuff like that."
Walker has yet to land a scholarship offer from the Commodores. However, he will be looking for that to change, whenever he hits the camp circuit this summer. The Birmingham, AL native will be taking his skill set to Nashville, TN this summer to camp with the Commodores. "When Coach Caldwell stopped by, that was one of the things he asked; whether I was going to be camping with them or not," May stated. "I am very excited about going up there. I'm ready to go."
According to Walker, Vanderbilt won't be the only place where he'll be making a stop this summer. The Briarwood Christian high star will be camping with several other programs from the SEC. "I have a pretty busy summer planned," Walker told VandyMania.com. "I'll be going to the Mississippi State Camp, the Ole Miss Camp, and the LSU camp this summer. Those three along with Vanderbilt, are pretty much going to be it for me."
The Commodores have been recruiting Walker as a DE. They appear highly impressed with his notable forty-yard dash time; a 4.55. They are also intrigued with the numbers he posted on the stat sheets last fall; 96 tackles and 8 sacks.
Should anything interesting occur over the summer regarding the Briarwood High star, VandyMania.com will certainly let you know. Stay tuned for the very latest recruiting news on SLB/DE Walker May.
