And now it gets interesting, as the SEC schedule really begins to take hold.

Week 4
(8-0 last week; 25-4 overall)

Let the games begin....

Alabama @ Arkansas –Alabama has looked good so far.  Arkansas has looked terrible.  But the Hogs were off last week, thanks to Ike.  It won’t help.  Tide by 20.

LSU @ Auburn– I couldn’t possibly pick a team that could only muster 3 points against Mississippi State.  LSU by 5.

Florida @ Tennessee – Let’s see.  Tennessee lost to UCLA, and UCLA lost to BYU(!)  by 59-0?  It doesn’t bode well for the Vols playing true top 20 teams.  Gators by 15.

Mississippi State @ Georgia Tech -  – I couldn’t possibly pick a team that could only muster 2 points against Auburn.  GT by 5.

Wofford @ South Carolina – The Chickens finally get to play a team they can beat.

SC by 35.

Georgia @ Arizona State – I’d really like to pick against the Dogs, considering their less than stellar performances so far, but ASU hasn’t done much better, and they lost to UNLV.  Other things being equal, pick the SEC.  Georgia by 6.

Vanderbilt @ Mississippi -  As far as I’m concerned, this is the most interesting SEC game on the schedule.  Lots of  back story, and two teams trying to get out of long-standing doldrums.  Mississippi will sell out to stop the run, and the game will hang on the ability of Vandy to pass effectively on third and 8.   Historically, this game has been the point at which the season unravels for the Commodores.  They’ve shown a lot of character so far, but the issue here is not going to be character, it’s going to be the ability to throw and catch.  Ole Missy 30 – Vandy 24.
