Vanderbilt nickel back Darlron Spead is expected to play against Florida. Spead was hurt in Vanderbilt's 24-17 win over South Carolina on Sept. 4.

Spead was injured after making an interception against the Gamecocks. He was knocked hard out of bounds by a frustrated South Carolina quarterback Chris Smelley.

Spead could be a big boost to an already talented Vanderbilt secondary as the No. 4 ranked Florida Gators head to Nashville. During his career the junior from Kingsland, Ga. has 40 tackles, 7 defended passes and 5 interceptions.

Vanderbilt head coach Bobby Johnson is one that will be happy to see Spead back on the field, "Just the experience factor alone is big, especially with a team that can put some speed out there at the wide receiver position. Darlron is very good at technique and anticipates things better than others."

Spead and his Commodore teammates will face the Gators at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
