Mylon Brown Discusses his Commitment
Brown's decision came not too long after he had a chance to see Vanderbilt University and its nearby surroundings up close and personal... "I took an official visit with them on last weekend," Brown told VandyMania.com. "Everything about the trip was really nice. I really liked the area, and the location of the college."
"The Coaching Staff really made me feel at home," Brown continued. "Everybody was real nice. There's not one bad thing that I can say about them."
It appears that Brown was thoroughly impressed with his visit to Nashville to say the very least. However, there was one other major factor that played a huge role in his decision. "Education," Brown stated. "Vanderbilt is definitely a place where I'll be able to get a good education. They have one of the highest graduation rates in the country. To me, Vanderbilt is kind of like the Ivy League of the South."
Brown also stated that he likes the idea of competing in the SEC. "Not only will I get a good education at Vanderbilt, but I'll also get to play football at the highest level," he said. "It's like having the best of both worlds."
Brown chose to join Vanderbilt over scholarship offers from Western Kentucky and Florida International, respectively. Commodore fans can thank Coach Jimmy Kiser (Co-Passing Game Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach) who played a huge role in landing the big 6-5, 295 pound offensive tackle.
Brown who primarily plays right tackle in high school told VandyMania.com that he has a feeling that he'll end up with the same role in college. "I've always played right tackle," Brown said. "So, I have a lot of experience there. I feel like I could make an impact at right tackle."
Mylon plans to study Sports Medicine when he enrolls at Vanderbilt University.
Stay tuned for more recruiting new regarding Vanderbilt prospects as the clock ticks toward Signing Day 2009. There is much more to come…
