The Vanderbilt coaching staff picked up highly regarded, local prep star, Wesley Tate at the last minute on Wednesday. Tate picked Vanderbilt over offers from Georgia Tech and Purdue.

Wesley Tate Profile

As a senior, rushed for 1,301 yards on 225 carries and scored 18 touchdowns. During his career at Pope John Paul II he rushed for over 3,045 and 42 touchdowns.

Tate was named to the Nashville Tennessean's "Dream Team" and was selected Division II All-State by sportswriters. A speedster, he won the state championship in the 100 meter dash.
