Re: Post your reminiscences / tributes to Kwane Doster below

My deepest sympathy for his family, friends, teamates, and all associated with this young man. How terrible that such great promise is quickly taken from us removing from us all of his great contributions to come? It is all so senseless, that it cannot be put into words. It is just an absolute tragic loss.

Thank you to the Doster family
Thank you for sharing Kwane with the Vanderbilt family. He was a wonderful football player and a wonderful person. Our players wear a star on their helmet, now they have one in the sky. God bless and thank you again.

As a friendly rival, I'd like to express my condolences to the immediate family as will as the Vanderbilt family of Kwane Doster. His loss is truly a tragedy.

The prayers of the Razorback family are extended to all the Commodore family at this very sad time.

Re: Post your reminiscences / tributes to Kwane Doster below
During Kwane's freshman year, I changed my .sig on this board to "Have Doster, Expect to Score", both in jest at our previous coach's slogan and in honor of our exciting new running back. Now I'll never get to see that exciting young player again. How fleeting life can be...

I'm surprised no one's posted this:

----------------------------------------
The time you won your town the race
We chaired you through the market-place;
Man and boy stood cheering by,
And home we brought you shoulder-high.

To-day, the road all runners come,
Shoulder-high we bring you home,
And set you at your threshold down,
Townsman of a stiller town.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away
From fields were glory does not stay
And early though the laurel grows
It withers quicker than the rose.

Eyes the shady night has shut
Cannot see the record cut,
And silence sounds no worse than cheers
After earth has stopped the ears:

Now you will not swell the rout
Of lads that wore their honours out,
Runners whom renown outran
And the name died before the man.

So set, before its echoes fade,
The fleet foot on the sill of shade,
And hold to the low lintel up
The still-defended challenge-cup.

And round that early-laurelled head
Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead,
And find unwithered on its curls
The garland briefer than a girl's.

It doesn't seem real
When I first read the news at the bottom of the screen on ESPN, I couldn't believe it. It just didn't seem real. I've had a sick feeling in my stomach all day. This is such a tremendous loss. Kwane was a wonderful young person with everything going for him. It's so tragic that his life was cut so short.

My prayers are with his family today. May God bless them and give them the kind of peace and strength that only He can give.

He will be missed on campus
So tragic. My prayers go out to the family, friends, and all of my fellow students who know him.

I do not know him personally, but I'm a junior as well so I feel like I know him. He is someone that was supposed to graduate along side me, and it is sad to know he won't

God Bless You Kwane from WVU Alumnus.
I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Please, fans and family, accept my heartfelt condolences during this sad time. God be with you.

West Virginia University alumnus.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here [am] I; send me.

Our thoughts and prayers...
are with VU and the Doster family. This is certainly a tragic incident, particularly this time of year. Kwame Doster was quite a player, and quite a person from what I understand.
