AFTERGLOW
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one I'd like to
leave an 'AFTERGLOW' of smiles when day is gone. I'd lke to leave an 'ECHO'
whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times, and laughing times, and
bright and sunny days! I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry
before the sun, Of happy 'MEMORIES' that I leave when life is
done!
VAYA CON DIOS, KWANE- GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY

My condolences to
you all!
That is horrible! All the unavoidable deaths in the world/asia and here we have
this kind of stupid senseless tragedy here....
I know it happens all the time but it seems so much worse when a young man
with so much to live for dies this way. He had such a bright future even if
he did nothing else but graduate from Vanderbilt with your valuable degree.

Sympathy
I have always had a tendency to look at events like this as a chance to
reflect on the life a person had and to celebrate the good.
In the short
life Kwane had, he accomplished so much. Most of us 'sidewalk alumni' couldn't
hope to ever set foot on a playing field or get admitted to VU. Kwane's gifts
and talents were such that he could and he made an impact in the short time we
were able to have him with us.
To me, the real tragedy is what the world
will miss by his absence. With all I read and heard about him the past days, he
was a special person who was going to make a difference. Now that can't happen
for the most awful reasons...
My heart goes out to his family, his
friends, and those he touched. Lets all be better people for having known and
known of him.

Re: Such sad
news.
Thank you to one of the Vandy fans for this link. Reaching out to more people
will bring more prayers...and eventually, healing.
From an alum of a
school who lost 10 at once, we know what you're going through. Please accept our
deepest sympathies and prayers for the families involved, as well as the freinds
and fans.
I will add special prayers for Kwane's brother. May he find
strength in our prayers and live his life to honor his brother's.
Regards
from Okla State,
Debi

Condolences from a Duke fan.
We can relate, having gone through this
with Micah Harris last season. It's a real tragedy and a crying shame that
things like this happen.

KWANE...what can I say? I've known you from the time we were in diapers until
the day you left this earth. I never took the time to tell you how much you
meant, how I thought of you as my family, that I was so proud of you for going
to Vandy, or that I made sure I caught all of your games on tv (I couldnt wait
to go see you play florida next season...) I hope you know just how loved you
are. Hey, they're even going to rename the park after YOU. Now our kids will
also get to know just how special you are. I will always remember your last
smile!!! Our prayers and hearts go out to Kelly, Chahka, Jermaine and all the
members of the Doster family. You all are so loved!

Re: Post your
reminiscences / tributes to Kwane Doster below
First and for most I would like to thank the Vandy family for showing mad
love. Dot oh my goodness we go back like throwbacks. We have known each other
for a very long time. I can remember when we were in middles school like it was
just yesterday. I always called you big head.Cause you know and i know you have
a big head lol. I can remember my senior year in hight school I was always
cheering for you and CG. I was yalls lil CHEERLEADER. Yall use to pick on me
cause I was the only black girl on the squad but I always represented. I can
remember when you and Clark played the joke on the school saying you broke your
leg and Clark broke his arm and yall couldnt play in the big game. I caolud have
beat yall up for that but yall got us good. Thanksgiving weekend was so so fun.
I have so many wonderful memories of you and I can go on for days sayin them,
but I am going to keep it short. I miss you so much my friend my PT BROTHER. And
I know you are watching down on all of us. I wish you could watch me cross the
stage graduating from Bethune Cookman but I know youll be there in heart and
spirit.I miss you and Ill never for get you.

Re: Post your reminiscences / tributes to Kwane Doster

Let me just say that I do not know the late Mr. Doster, nor do I have any
connection to him in any way. But we both are from the same area, and I still
live there. What happened to Mr. Doster was a savage act that defies any use of
the word 'sick'. Ybor City has turned into a hellhole full of criminals and
drunks, and it really is a shame. One would be wise not to venture there at
night. But in any case, Mr. Doster did not deserve to die like that, he was a
great human being, with his football talent unquestionable. May his soul rest in
piece for ever, and from one Tampa Bay product to another, I'll miss you
buddy.
RIP

Kwane,
I know you were more than a Vandy football player. You were a son,
a freind, a mentor and a leader. You will be forever missed.
That said,
this season's fantastic start is for you. May you rest in peace in the kingdom
of heaven.
