Vanderbilt's first bowl game in 26 years is rapidly approaching. VandyMania continues its analysis of players who will play a key role in the big game. Today we take a look at
wide receiver/tailback/punt returner Jamie Graham.
No player has moved around more than Jamie Graham. After redshirting as a defensive back last season Jamie was moved to wide receiver just before the season started.
Graham, who also plays guard on the Vanderbilt basketball team, has 15 catches for 118 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also is very effective at running the ball, picking up 113 yards on
19 rushes. His biggest game this season was at Georgia on October 18. That day Graham caught 4 passes for 36 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores were leaping catches at
almost the same spot in the end zone. He made another similar catch against Florida in Nashville.
The speedy athlete also has returned 8 punts for 40 yards for the 'Dores.
Graham, who attended White Creek high school in Nashville, was recently moved to tailback as Vandy looks for more productivity on the ground with the injury to Jared Hawkins. Graham may be runner now but look for him to still come up with big catches.
VandyMania salutes Jamie Graham and his 2008 Commodore teammates.
