Based solely on the last "game" it would appear that Christina, Jasmine L, Tiffany, Kendall and or Heather/Elan will anchor down the revised lineup.
It is still a nightmare thinking about how this new lineup came about and the impact it will have all season. Man, we've had our share of issues with taller players over the years. But, I'm sure in time the staff will "adapt and overcome".
Not sure it means anything, but Heather Bowe took Steph's place to start the second half.
One of the things they brought away from the exhibition game is that they need to start games better. I'm guessing that means that they might try some variations in the starting lineup and that they'll stick with the first one that clicks from the opening tip.
In addition to having several optional lineups we can put on the floor, this coaching staff also has the "advantage" of having been down this road before.
We will definitely not be as strong as we would have been if Steph was out on the court, but we've got more options in the post this year, and Coach Balcomb and her staff know how to play with an undersized lineup if that's the way they decide to go.
My opinion might be slightly "beside the point". It seems to me that the level of talent on this team is relatively even, i.e., at least ten players are capable of being starters. Therefore, it doesn't matter a great deal who starts because all or most are going to be getting significant playing time. With Steph out of the lineup, that would seem to be more the case. (Maybe I'm just hoping we won't miss her all that much). I haven't seen much on this board about Morgan Beaty. She is only 5'10" and she went to a small school, but she was a rebounding monster in high school. Let's hope that carries over to the college level - again filling in that vacuum left by Steph's absence.
